im not sure if i got his last name right its props brodeur, but it seems to me that this is his last hurrah, his getting replaced by over rated luongo was rediculous, canada still would have won the gold medal anyway with brodeur, but to me thats the beginning of the end of the era for him...anyone think he can go more than 2 more seasons?

Brodeur has been one of the most important parts of the devils team for some time now. As long as Lou Lamorello is the GM, he'll be willing to offer Brodeur a contract, so Brodeur can play for another four, five years if he wants, but only one year will be productive, and many of the four or five years he can play would be as a backup. I think he'll add a one year contract extension in the 11-12 season, and play around 40-50 games in 12-13, but at a lower level then he is used to. Brodeur will probably retire in 2013, and get a job within the new jersey system. I think he'll be good up until 2012, but then his performance will drop off, and brodeur will retire because he feels he is not helping the team anymore. I think he'll be good in the next two seasons though, and I think he has three seasons left in him (He is known for his durability)

He had the most wins in the NHL last season, the most shutouts, the most minutes played, the 3rd best goals against average, won the Jennings trophy (fewest goals against), and was nominated for the Vezina (best goaltender) last year. He's on a team that seems to be built for championship contention every year and has 2 years left in his contract. So this certainly isn't his last season (barring a major injury), and he may have up to 4 or 5 left in him.

Yes I think playing over 17 years is not happening to him or Kovalchuk Bettman is already watching the Devils over that 17 Year and $200,000,000.00 Contract Extension best let the players leave on their Terms what the New Jersey Devils need to start Understanding and Respecting.

Yes brodeur sucks. I hope he never comes back to the NHL. But luongo is not "over rated". He did an amazing job for Canada. If it wasn't for him Canada wouldn't have gotten out of the group stages. He is by far the best goalie in the NHL.

He has gotta make sure that the records he has set based on longevity will never be broken. Unfortunately, in the process he's likely to slowly hurt his lifetime GAA and save %. He is no doubt a workhorse, but for his sake hopefully the end of his career is near.

He has little to prove. Just hope the league retires

the trapezoid rule when Marty leaves.

Probably Not but he is getting pretty old and washed up. He is not as good as he used to be, that's for sure.
