Question:
Would not trading Sundin be quite possibly the stupidest move in the history of sport?

I dunno, the Leafs aren't due for a comeback any time soon and besides,Sundin isn't helping the situation much either. The best thing Toronto can do is just sell him and get as many young players as they can. Sundin is worth a whole lot, atleast milk him for all his worth before he retires! Hes not getting any younger! (or atleast before he shatters a hip)

Sundin is the situation. He's the reason he is not being traded, not Toronto management.

No one in Sundin's position can help win Toronto a cup, let Sundin retire peacefully, the next 3 years or so for Toronto don't exactly look peachy anyway so just let him retire a Maple Leaf.

In sports?I think the Yankees and Red Sox might have to say something about that. The trade of Babe Ruth changed baseball forever and the Yanks previously hadnt won a Championship then have won 26 since the deal so easy saying that Sundin not being moved is the stupidest.

Actually trading a guy with a no-trade clause would be even stupider.

I can see the court case now

Judge: Mr. Fletcher,.....did you not read the section that says that Sundin can not be traded

Fletcher: No sir...............I didn't have my glasses on.

Years of poor decisions have put the Leafs where they are now.Dont blame Mats,He has been put in a difficult situation. The Leafs agreed to sign the deal allowing the no trade clause. But I cant think of a team anywhere that wouldnt take him.Why is Paul Maurice employed??

For once, I don't see how it's MLSE's fault. Sundin was the one who refused to waive his no-trade.

It wasnt just him, all the no-trade guys on the Leafs said NO! Dont just blame him like the typical Leaf fan.

I think it makes sense that he wants to finish off the year there.

But I also think it's stupid this team will not win the cup for a long time until they get their **** together.

YOU ARE THE STUPODEST PERSON IN THE HISTORY OF PEOPLE. stupid people like you are fricken stupid. yeah makes sense.....but like this is the best player in leaf history, face it he is....it should be completely his choice if he wants to leave or not. he's been the best player on the team since pretty much when he got here, so give him some respect because he's one of the greatest leaders of all time, one of the best in the league still, and theirs still gas in the tank. worship the ground he walks on and maybe you won't go to hell.

You can't trade a contract that stipulates you can't trade it.

Sundin cannot legally be traded without his consent, so it can't be a stupid move when legally you can't make it.
