of direction. In some areas of the U.S., this is as great as Canada. a lot of people interior the northeastern area of the U.S. (Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, etc.) and in Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota (in all probability the main important hockey state) play hockey. Hockey is likewise particularly great in long island, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. of course, there are some areas the place purely approximately no person performs (Mississippi, Kentucky, Arkansas, etc.). some non-classic hockey states have grown exceedingly in the process the final years in hockey like California, Texas (this has to do with the achievement of the Dallas Stars) and Florida. So confident, individuals do play hockey.

Is your rant for real?

Listen, I am an American who loves hockey but anyone claiming that the NHL will overtake the NFL, MLB, and the NBA in our lifetime is delusional. More Americans are finding hockey outside of the Northeast and Michigan and Minnesota... that is true. But are you so insecure that you can't celebrate the sport with the rest of the world? Are you the type of Canadian who wants his sport to be regional? Sorry buddy but if you have your way then your talent will go to bigger markets. You'll still have hockey but with average talent. The American market is essential for the evolution of the world's premier hockey league. I am not saying that to be arrogant, I am just stating a fact.

That fact was why Canadian owners and Canadian GMs and Canadian players chose to invest in American teams. I do not know of one person involved in the NHL who is anti-American for hockey business. Think about that. Maybe you should be writing some letters to the thousands of Canadians that allowed the opening of the American hockey market.

It has been very popular in the North/Northeast for a while now. We are allowed to watch and play whatever sports we want. Canadians don't 'own' hockey.

It's the best sport in the world, why not have more people play?

I would love for hockey to be even more popular around the world.

@insane, at least your team has made the playoffs since than

Does it really matter? Canadians watch baseball and have teams, isn't that "America's Pastime"?

Oh and I have always like hockey over basketball.

Hockey is awesome and I am glad to see the sport growing. Sports aren't confined to one country, so everyone should be able to play it.
