If you are a hard core hockey fan, you could subscribe to Canadian satellite TV. You just get the dish and pay your bills just like you would with an American service. But you would have to have a Canadian address for your bills, since they won't know where your dish is located, as long as the bills go to a Canadian address. Then you will have most of the American channels except HBO or ESPN, but you would have all the Canadian channels.

Although just buying the hockey package for a year might be less hassles.

In my travels to the states, I've never once seen cbc. If Calgary's playing against an american team, there's a chance you could find it on a random american channel, but other than that, I don't think so, sorry. Worst comes to worst, I think cbc has live streaming online of their games.

There is one legal way, and two kinda legal ways, and one way that might work that is legal. The legal way is to pay $200 for Centre Ice. The first kinda legal way is to get Canadian satellite as someone mentioned. The other kinda legal way is to get a Canadian proxy for your computer.

You could try FTA, which is legal. I'm not sure if you can get CBC on FTA.

Since you're not close to the border, you're gonna have to pay for it, one way or another. If you just want it for hockey, go for the Center Ice Package

nhl center ice is not expensive at all.. $140 for the whole year? that's nothing... or you could invest $400 and get a good TV tuner for your computer and output it through your TV... or you could pay for streaming TV through tsn.com (not recommended, apparently not too reliable or fast)
