I'll be missing GAME 1!!!!!!!!! AHHHH.
My family has decided to go camping Friday night and stay until Sunday morning! >:O
I'll be missing game one of the STANLEY CUPS FINALS.

God, what if the Penguins win? I'll be extremely irritated because I missed them win! They can't win without meeeee! (But they still better win without me) What if Hal Gill scores? I've been waiting for him to score for months.......I'm really sad now. lol

Have you ever had to miss a Stanley Cup Finals game when you're favorite team was playing due to family trips/work/etc....?

I'm not getting cable in my apartment until my roommates get here next month, so you're better off than I am! I'm spending the Memorial Day weekend at my mother's, so game one is probably the ONLY Finals game I'll see--I can't even go sit at a sports bar because I'm the only college student on the face of the earth without a fake ID (and yes, if I had one, I'd totally use it for that!)

The last time the Sabres were in the Finals, I was only in 6th grade, so I missed seeing a couple games when my father made me go to bed. I used to put out the lights, then turn on my radio and listen with a mouth full of blanket to keep from yelling too loud. No keeping me away from my team! Mom always let me stay up because she wanted somebody to watch with, though.

Sorry Kate. You should bring a radio with you so you can at least listen to the game.

Last season when the Sabres played Ottawa(I know it isn't the finals) I missed game 5 because I had to go to a Relay for Life event. It sucked. It was a chicken barbeque and no one showed up during the game so I sat there doing nothing most of the time. When the game went to overtime the town supervisor brought out a tv and I sat there and watched it. We made the band that we hired stop plying music so we could all here what was going on lol.

WHAT?! The rest of your family aren't hockey fans? That's not possible if they're related to such a cool person like you!! Why are they missing game 1?!!

You know what you should do? Suddenly contract a strange disease so you'll have to stay at home, and sadly, not go camping. If they catch on to that, just tell them you really want to watch the game. If they refuse...then I have no other plans :-( Bring a radio and listen to the game?

My family are hockey fans so I've never missed the Cup finals for any family reasons. I don't work, and I'd miss school for hockey. lol.

I missed every game except for Game 1 and most of game 7 of the 2006 Stanley Cup Finals, because I was on a cruise for 7 days in the Bahamas. Worst vacation ever, had motion sickness for a week. I came back home just as the first period ended, and watched the Canes hoist the Cup. Only benefit from the trip was that I spent a few days in New York City, my favorite place in the entire world, and I saw the Bahamas for the first time, as well as took a trip to the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida.

LMAO Copas, do you give your kids the same advice?

Copas - LMFAO, I love that free gas idea!

See, I miss some SCF games, but I have NEVER missed a Cup-deciding/SCF-elimination game ever since I started to watch hockey. If this camping trip would overlap on games 4, 5, 6, or 7, (if it went that far), then I would either not go camping at all, or go back home to watch the game and then back to the campsite (although I'd really be covering some long distance in that case).

I missed the first two games of the 1991 Stanley Cup finals because I was grounded (I didn't do my chores). Needless to say, when the Penguins were in the finals the next year, I made sure everything was finished, made sure I did all my homework (in advance), and made sure I took my dog out early. I didn't miss any games that time!

Been on a Greyhound bus, en route to the game, when the bus was delayed for 2.5 hours in Columbus, OH (Blue Jacket jinx I guess), the driver never tried to make up time and we pulled into Dallas 4 hours late, I got in just in time to see the crowd filing out of American Airlines Center, and one of the best OT wins in Stars history...Still went in and printed the ticket from the ticketmaster stand, but I still will never cut it that close when there's a big game coming up.

Gadzooks! I was gonna go caming, too - but I'm the mom so I can cancel!

No, I have never had to miss a SCF game. The Penguins won't win, so don't worry about missing too much ;-)

This time at band camp, in exchange for all the cookies he ate ... the bear gave Kate and Mike a portable tv so they could watch the game whilst everyone else was having cheap American beer and making smores by the fire.

ROTFLMFAO--- Sit me next to the big gal again will ya???

That Karma thingy can be a biottch sometimes cant it?

I kid Kate--- only because I care toots.. LOL....

My advice--(if your going to a campground)--Look around when you get there-- notice who has the television set-ups.. then around game time--- WHOOOOSH--FREELOAD, BABY!!!!

You gotta see your boys somehow... Have fun nonetheless..

Heavy-- LOL-- yep!! Were setting up a roadblock on the town square this weekend -- all proceeds will go to fill up our gas tanks.. It's also a thing of beauty to see them work that magic at garage sales.. My youngest is an ace at getting us a free meal at Dennys-- Nausea and puppydog eyes gets 'em every time..

I promised three friends of mine that i would go up to Moraine State Park (i dunno if you know where that is) but we're staying in a hotel up there from Saturday - Sunday. I know that the game is later Saturday, but i'm pretty sure my friends will be upset if i ditch them to spend half the night watching TV. So i'm going to have one of my guy friends call me after every period lol. you should do that!

& it's a shame that i knew who you were by your picture. Conan O'briennnnnnn. lol

Thank God that you won't see the game. It's better to hear of a spanking the day after it happens. Penguins have two chances of winning the cup, slim & None.

Oh don't worry....i'll be there watching....jinxing them until they can't be jinxed anymore.

You won't feel as bad then.At least it isn't as bad as your team blowing a 3 goal lead in the playoffs.. -_-
