Is 'Canadiens' the original spelling in Canada? And what is a "Hab"? What's the meaning, and where does that come from? It sounds too much like 'hag' lol.

in French, "Canadians" are spelt "Canadiens"

and Habs stands for "les Habitants", which was what the French settlers were called.

Yeah dude I say it everyday, Canadiens is the french touch in the NHL, even in english, TV commentators say the word CANADIENS, it sounds better huh?

Hab is an habitant, the french farmers who came when Canada was discovered by french explorators

kk canadiens orginally mean the french speaking people who live in canada, since montreal is in Quebec where they speak french they are called the montreal canadiens, Canadians is for all the citizens of the country canada. Hab is short for "habitant" in french <---if your not french or canadian you probabaly wont get it
