West

Surprises : Blues and Wild

Disappointments : Kings and Ducks, with the amount of skill on those teams they should be sitting higher than 11th and 14th

East

Surprises : Maple Leafs and Panthers and to a lesser extent the Rangers

Disappointments : Capitals should be sitting better than 11th.

West Conf

Surprises= Minnesota, Ryan Nugent Hopkins. I really didn't think he was ready for the NHL just yet. but i see a Calder in his future

Disappointments= Los Angeles, big time. They were my damn picks for the cup

East Conf.

Surprises= Winnipeg and Ottawa, I expected tem to be bottomfeeders all year. But 1 of them may make the playoffs. I don't think there is room for both. Florida leading the SE is surprising too

disappointments= Washington. I expected them to be cup favourites, now we have to see if they will even make the playoffs

I haven't witnessed every team for their every game. My opinion is based solely on the standings as of today.

Positive: Rangers, Leafs, Panthers, Jets, Wild, Coyotes

Negative: Capitals, Sabres, Kings

The Rangers and Minnesota are doing better than I expected. I had picked the rebuilding Senators to finish dead last, and the jets are pushing for a playoff spot. Montreal is where I expected and the Leafs are set to finish in 8th or 9th as expected.

It's funny that people are disappointed in Montreal when most of the people I know predicted them to be 10th or 12th
