I mean the price of a really good seat at an islanders game wouldn't even get you a seat a rangers game. Or if it does then its all the way in the mezzanine! and these are just regular season games. Its the same thing with the Knicks too. Both teams are in the same market so why is one teams prices reasonable and the others so overpriced? its almost as if you are paying for the "privilege" of sitting in madison square garden.

It's called supply and demand. There's a high demand for Rangers tickets; they're a good team. Meanwhile, the Islanders, whom are one of the worst teams in the league have no demand. The Islanders just want fans to show up to games which is why they make the tickets very cheap.

Well the Islanders are having trouble getting attendance at their games so the tickets will be a lot cheaper. Whereas the Rangers are doing good and their venue is parked right in Manhatten, so when you put both those facts together, the Rangers have higher ticket prices.

No one respects or attempts to help the struggling Islanders. John Tavares is a star waiting to break out. The Islanders are a great team that need much improvement.

This should include new management, coach, GM, etc. It's a joke really. The Islanders need fans too. But everyone downs them so expect how much of a negative attitude the players go into games with.

There's a lot of pressure for a player to do that which they might've found in Michael Grabner.

The Rangers sellout every game, the Islanders are one of the worst in attendance.

The Rangers are ranked 2nd in the NHL in franchise value. The Islanders are ranked 28th. What was that you were saying about "same market"?

the rangers and madison square garden are in nyc

if you've ever been to nyc you'd know things are expensive there

the rangers have a lot of fans in a huge city so tickets are going to be pricy

the islanders are in the suburbs and have less fans so tickets are going to cost less.

Rangers have more demand for tickets so they can increase the price.

Take a wild guess. The Rangers fill up 99.3 % of the MSG, and the Isles fill up 61.3 % of the NVMC.

Rangers- 13th best attendance in NHL

Isles- 30th best attendance in NHL

Watch any islanders game on tv, look at all the empty seats, and then you will understand why their tickets are so cheap. They are desperate to sell tickets.
