I'm going to the Saturday game and was thinking about throwing an octopus on the ice but I don't want to waste the $100 on my ticket if you get kicked out of the game.

Anywhere else but detroit and the answer i yes. In detroit things are different. If you throw on octopus on the ice sometimes the staff will find u and take you away sometimes they wont. But when they do they only take you to the concourse and make sure you dont have another one and that you wont throw any mroe things and they let you go back to your seat. But that doesnt even happen most of the time. Ive done it before and you feel like a god after cause everyone who saw you throw it automatically loves you lol. Its fun so yes have fun and let the octopi fly.

In theory, yes. But since Saturday's game is in Detroit you should be fine. Nobody is going to point you out. Just make sure you are close enough so that the octopus hits the ice. If you are in the upper bowl and you toss it on some poor sap in the expensive seats, all bets are off. Good luck and go Wings!!!

Somebody threw an octupus on the ice at the start of a flames wings game i went to a while ago (in calgary) and got kicked out immediately, which got a huge cheer from the crowd lol. Probably not a good idea to do it if you wanna stay for the whole game. At the wings arena they might encourage it though since its a tradition, but im not really sure.

I agree, $100 for a playoff ticket? Where are you sitting, the nosebleed section?

At any rate, throwing anything onto the ice, except a hat following a hat trick, is a very bad idea. If they determine it was you, they may escort you out. How about just a poster with a picture of an octopus?

You can get kicked out of any arena anywhere for throwing anything on the ice, octopus or not.

If they can pin point that it was you I think you will get escorted out. Plus, there is that added expense of finding and paying for an octopus. They aren't cheap. AND....you have to hide it amongst your person until the right time comes to pitch it.

I say, let some other schmuck do it.

Which is more important to you - watching the whole game or being able to say "I threw an octopus on the ice!"?

If it were me, I'd rather enjoy the game, enjoy a few beers and watch others get tossed if they threw one.
