1) A friend had a couple extras for his suite for a Leafs game...bigger comfy chairs and free beer. Not a bad way to roll, if you ask me.
2) Talk about a dying art...
3) Brodeur and Ryan Miller are both pretty important for their teams.
4) Already had the Hal Gill Experience (sounds like something to experience at the Laserium or something after you've enjoyed a little Jamaican bud)...
5) They have this already during the HHOF weekend. It's sad and pathetic when you see these guys and think they're better than the current crop.
BQ: I hate chain restaurants; other than my morning stop at Tim Horton's for coffee (always fresh, usually- at least cheap) I avoid 'em like the plague (and unfortunately all these American chains keep ending up here in the GTA like a crazy ex-girlfriend who finds out where you live despite the restraining order). Not sure I have one singular dish. If I want a good steak there's Barberian's (old school and unapologetic and not in an ironic sense)...if I'm spending someone else's money and want sushi I'm at Kaji. Globe Bistro and Nota Bene both rotate their menus quite a bit, relying on what's good now. Fratellis or the Danforth Pizza House are my go-to's for pizza pie.
Right now though...I've been on a pho** kick lately (this happens a few times a year) which is something we do well here. If I'm in downtown I'll go to Pho Pasteur (on Spadina), but for Home Team goodness the Pho 66 on Steeles is never bad. Both cheap and look offputting enough to keep the out-of-town rubes out.
**for the uninitiated, pho is a Vietnamese noodle dish.
BQC: There is no such thing as a good chicken caesar salad. It's the public Snuggie wearing of the culinary world.
BQC2: The salmon caesar salad...go for it. If I never eat another chicken caesar salad, tuna tartare, creamed spinach, sliders, creme brulee or some motherf***ing overpriced cupcake I will be more than fine (seriously- WTF is with charging people six dollars for a damn cupcake- I don't give a flying fiddle if it's artisianal flour hand-ground by virgins with chocolate found from some faraway village on a remote island in Fiji...it's still a cupcake).
