before u disagree look at the future... get a couple good young prospects from detroit... get sundin a ring.... sign ovechkin for 8 mill or so trade raycroft and sign sundin to a one year deal!!! come on that is juss beautiful

Here's what I think, Get rid ot Raycroft and keep Toskala and Pogge as your goaltending unit. Make a deal with a cup contender, Sundin deserves a ring and sure as hell the Leafs won't give it to him. Trade Raycroft for young prospects or draft picks and trade Sundin for a good d-man and some other players. I'm sure Sundin is worth something. The chances of the Leafs ever signing Ovechkin or any player of his calibre are slim to none.

Any particular reason Detroit is going to give up a couple hot prosects to rent Sundin for a few weeks? I can't see Ovechkin doing more than the five first round draft picks you'd give up as compensation for signing the RFA. Trading Raycroft is a good start though, you'd almost think JFJ would have thought of that. I don't think there are any easy fixes in Leafland before you replace Ferguson.

hey Sundins an amazing player and just cuz hes old dosent mean he cant d much isay before trading sundin get rid of otherworse players on the team ex raycroft neds to go hes **** hu gets booed in their home town but sundin has power even though hes old.

you would think so... trading sundin would probly ensure another decade of crap... we could move mccabe, tucker, ponikarovsky, raycroft and maybe a few others and save the same amount of money... enough to buy ovechkin AND keep sundin im sure....there's plenty of things i think they should be doing, but... when you trade away a player that good, you had better makes sure at least one of the guys u get back is a bonafide future stud. we dont need any flops comin our way.



i say...trade away pretty much anything but toskala, sundin and kaberle(maybe kubina) and start fresh... there's too many"hustle guys" on our team and not enough skill... i like ovechkin comin here bigtime tho.... hes my fav player right now. and washington is known for having poor ice... hed look great here on a line with sundin.. yes

I feel Sundin has earned the right for him to decide where he goes.

if he wants to stay in Toronto, then let him.

If he wants to go, let him go. Do a Ray Bourque style trade and send him to a cup contender for next to nothing.

Yes, trade Mats to a contender he deserves a ring. The Leafs desperately need draft picks. They should try to trade Raycroft and bring up Pogge to back up Toskala. There's a lot of things they should do or could have done, but they still have JFJ as GM so until he's gone I can't see anything happening.
