Question:
Was Marty Biron so "up-and-down" when he played for the Sabres?

I don't care what he did last year - that was last year and they didn't win the Cup, but I'm sitting here watching the replay of the Flyers/Sabres game, and he looks shaky.

That goal by Moore at the post was unforgivable, and the other two could have been easily stopped. I'm glad the Flyers found the net, but they can't afford to have a goalie take the night off and let teams into games during the playoffs.

Is this why Ryan Miller got the #1 spot before Biron got traded to Philly?

I don't think Biron had a lot of stretches to prove himself. Ruff has been known as a coach who takes few chances using a backup. However, when Biron was called upon, he did quite well. I don't think his play as a Sabre backup can be compared to his play as a starter. I think Philly has been his only chance to be number 1, and maybe it was too late.

He still is. He's an average goaltender and always will be.
