Wait a minute.. is it columbus day? IS THAT WHY THE GAMES ARE COMING ON BEFORE I EVEN GET OUT OF WORK!!!!!!! FIRST THEY STOP GIVING ME THE DAY OFF OF SCHOOL WHEN I WAS IN 6TH GRADE FOR TODAY AND NOW THEY MAKE ME MISS THE FIRST STARS GAME I COULD HAVE WATCHED AT HOME WITH MY FRIENDS???!?!???

I think the reasoning is some people have the day off and can go to early games, right? For that reason, smart.



It doesn't really affect me because the Wings don't play again till Thursday and the Tigers are on at four and the Lions are on at 8:30. I am GLAD the Wings don't have a game today Columbus Day or not.



Columbus Day is not the stupidest holiday in the entire world......Sweetest Day is.

Smart. A lot of people have the day off from work. MNF will be competition tonight, but today, there is none, so they can get a larger audience (I'm surprised NBC didn't decide to televise one of these games).



As for Columbus Day being a stupid holiday, given how w/o his voyages, the US, Canada, and Latin America of today wouldn't exist, it's not really any stupider than any other holidays. New Years? Arbitrary. Christmas? Not exactly a holiday that everyone care about. I could list more, but you get the point. Also, having games on today is just as much about Canadian Thanksgiving ("What does Canada even have to be thankful about"-Barey Stinson).

Well you have that whole Thanksgiving in Canada, so I think that is part of it as well. Seriously unless you work for the Government do you even get a day off for Columbus Day? I doubt that most people care about this "holiday", I think it was just another excuse for the Government to take off anymore.
